SOP 05 Major incident

The
Major incidents that will be under our control will occur to either our clients
or our volunteers.  Other incidents on
site will be dealt with by Nene Park Trust / Nene Outdoors, and we will defer
to their requirements.

The person in charge of managing the incident will be one of the following (dependant on
experience and who is on site at the time).

Peterborough Sailability Secretary.

Principal Training Centre.

Senior Instructor.  

Chair of the Ops Committee.  

A committee member.

At the outset of the incident the person in charge should assess the situation,
determine which emergency services are required and then summon them accordingly.

If the incident occurs on the water, then casualties should be returned to the slipway made safe and given first aid until handed over to the emergency services.

When contacting emergency services make sure you clearly tell them that we are at the ‘Water-sports Centre’ quote grid reference for the site:  X:TL14188  Y:TL97672  (post code covers too large an area).  And or: What 3 Words location: “Slower.Lift.Closet

The RYA need to be informed of a major incident (see attached RYA emergency action plan)
