Volunteers
Peterborough Sailability is entirely dependant on volunteers
Opportunities for all to Sail
At Peterborough Sailability we aim to encourage and support people with disabilities to take up sailing which is delivered by our committed and passionate volunteers.
Our Volunteers

Run by Volunteers
Peterborough Sailability is run entirely by volunteers and without them we would be unable to provide people with disabilities, our sailors, with the opportunity to sail.

Volunteers wanted
As our popularity increases, we constantly need more people to make things work.
If you would like to give up a little of your time on a Tuesday or Thursday during our sailing season, April to October, then please come along or contact us.

No experience necessary
Whether you have had lots of sailing experience or not, we need your help with the varied tasks involved. We all get enormous satisfaction from helping our disabled sailors enjoy their time on the water.
Launching boats or booking in clients.
Driving the quad bike, or rigging the boats – we need you!

You could be volunteering on a Tuesday or/and Thursday, full day or just a few hours. On a day you could be a sailing buddy volunteer and take out our users in a Challenger sailing boat, following the agreed training program for our sailors. Alternatively, you could be part of a shore crew that will help safely launch or recover boats from the water, including the use of a quad bike. As part of the office crew, you will meet and greet users, check them in and kit them out with equipment.
